Goals

Our people really are our most important asset and wherever you work within our business, whatever your background, your skills and your culture you are valued for the work you do, how you contribute to the business and how you interact with your colleagues. Thankfully we are not all the same, and this is what makes a company like Foz Electrical so special.

We have a current compliment of 15 office based employees, a workforce of 78 site based Staff and a selection of subcontractors with whom we have an excellent working relationship.

Along with a combined construction experience of over 100 years we believe that training and development is key.

We currently employ 22 electricians in local education and 2 trainee quantity surveyors who attend college on a regular basis.

We also hold regular in house work shops and attend key training seminars.

David Gain, Electrician, Trainee Project Manager

I have been in employment at Foz Electrical since June 2005 and was hired as an apprentice electrician to work as part of a team on the social housing scheme on the Wirral.

As part of the apprenticeship I was to attend college for three years in order to gain the necessary qualifications in order to become an electrician. As a result of this I began a college course at Wirral Metropolitan College, Twelve Quays, along with sixteen other employees of Foz Electrical. The course I was studying was the 2330 Electro Technical Certificate Level 2. The duration of this course was two years with a further year of study taking place at Deeside College to obtain the 2330 Level 3 Electro Technical Certificate.

During my three years training I worked on many projects such as the social housing scheme, upgrades to kitchens and bathrooms, on the Wirral, Liverpool and Manchester. I also worked around the country in places such as Bristol, Cambridge, Blackpool and Livingston providing full installations to newly built shops.

I believe that my time at Foz Electrical has been of great benefit towards my career as it is ultimately helping me to branch out into other fields of work, such as project management. I also believe that the on site training that the apprentices of Foz Electrical receive is key in their development and due to the friendly and hard working atmosphere i would recommend Foz to anyone.

I have worked for Foz Electrical since April 2007 when I started as an office temp. During my time as a temp I began to learn about the company and in turn the Construction Industry. I was assigned to assist in Commercial matters and soon developed a passion for the job.

I was already studying another Course at University but after spending time at Foz and witnessing the passion, dedication and drive in the company I knew that I wanted to stay.

I was given plenty of advice and support on how to gain a career in the Construction Industry and Foz enabled me to obtain a place at Liverpool John Moores University on the Quantity Surveying BSC(Hons) degree.

I work four days at Foz and study One day at University and I am currently completing my second year of the Course. I know without a doubt that I would not be working towards such a rewarding, challenging and exciting career without the help of Foz Electrical.

Foz Electrical is an inspirational place to work for me and for many other people who are training towards a lifelong career. I am constantly learning and developing in my job and I am always encouraged by Foz to go the extra mile, work to my full potential and achieve more.

I know that my time at Foz has been life changing and has enabled me to work towards qualification in Quantity Surveying, a job that I am truly passionate about.
